The Harrogate Water story began in 1571 when Harrogate’s first mineral spring was discovered by William Slingsby. Harrogate soon became a destination for health & enjoyment, with visitors flocking to ‘take the waters’ and experience the spa town’s vibrant social scene. Now owned by Danone, the company’s water is internationally-renowned as one of the finest still and sparkling spring waters.

Currently the number one Out Of Home water brand in the UK*, Harrogate Water can be found at the most prestigious events and venues, from Michelin-starred restaurants to onboard the world’s most reputable airlines.

Harrogate Water’s commitment to sustainability runs deep within the company’s DNA. Its Harrogate site has been zero to landfill for over a decade and all packaging is 100% recyclable including label and cap. Harrogate Water’s distinctive diamond bottles have been designed to compact when twisting for easy recycling. The unique design has been ‘right-weighted’, ensuring the bottles are light but strong. Right-weighting minimises the use of raw materials whilst maintaining functional integrity.

In 2017 Harrogate Water launched an award-winning recycling initiative, ‘The Incredible Shrinking Bottle’ in collaboration with Keep Britain Tidy, encouraging consumers to recycle their bottle on the go. The campaign highlighted 100% recyclability; bottle, label and cap using the tag line ‘Twist it, Cap it, Recycle it’.

Harrogate Water’s ambition is to continue to lead within the Out of Home category and expand its travel retail portfolio across all sectors and channels to be the number one water in the sky and on the sea.
