The Travel Retail Consortium (TRC) is calling on the travel retail community to support its latest fundraising initiative as members prepare to walk a collective 100 kilometres or more in the Macmillan Cancer Support London Halloween Walk, taking place this on October 31.
Dressed in suitably spooky costumes, the team will be stepping out to raise vital funds for Macmillan Cancer Support as part of The Moodie Davitt Report’s #KickCancerThon initiative launched earlier this year by the late Sinéad Moodie.
“The challenge reflects the travel retail industry’s strong tradition of coming together for meaningful causes, with the Consortium aiming not only to reach the 100km milestone but also to raise as much money as possible for people affected by cancer,” says TRC chairperson Sharon Edwards-Smith.
“We’re looking forward to tackling the challenge together – and having a little Halloween fun along the way. More importantly, we’re proud to be supporting #KickCancerThon in memory of Sinéad while helping Macmillan continue its incredible work for people living with cancer and their families.”
The Travel Retail Consortium is encouraging colleagues, friends, partners and the wider travel retail community to support the team’s efforts by donating. Every contribution, large or small, will help make a difference.
Donations can be made via the team’s JustGiving page:
Donations can also be made at the TRC’s annual cocktail evening during TFWA WE, kindly hosted by Heineken on Tuesday September (by invite only). Those attending will have the opportunity to make a donation to Macmillan whilst also having the chance to win one of several TRC member prizes.
If you would like to join the TRC on the walk (it’s just 10k), please contact row@essencompr.com for further information.
The more the spookier!
The Consortium thanks everyone for their support and looks forward to sharing updates on monies raised.
