Global eyewear company Mondottica Group furthers its sustainability journey with the announcement of B Corporation status. Officially certified, Mondottica Group met strict criteria regarding its high levels of social and environmental performance, accountability, and transparency.
Following an intensive 18-months process, Mondottica Group answered 258 questions relating to every aspect of its international business. Awarded by B Lab, B Corp company status is only granted to for-profit organisations that have met and been measured to the rigorous standards defined and achieved by the high standard award.
Ben Whitaker, MD of Mondottica Group said, “Achieving B Corp certification marks an important strategic milestone for Mondottica, reinforcing our commitment to embedding responsible and people‑centred practices across our operations and partnerships. B Corp provides a clear framework for how we continue to grow as a business, empowering us to enhance our social and environmental impact in a purposeful and measurable way. “Looking ahead, we are committed to accelerating progress across the organisation, working closely with our brand partners and empowering our teams to build a business that is high‑performing, purpose‑driven, and resilient for the future. Mondottica employees and our valued customers remain a core focus and are fundamental in sustaining and improving our high levels of sustainable business processes.”
B Corp status follows Mondottica Group’s membership of the UN Global Compact, a voluntary platform for the development and implementation of responsible business practices.
Mondottica Group has been a pioneer of integrating significant amounts of Eastman Acetate Renew throughout its brand partner eyewear collections from brands such as AllSaints, Vivienne Westwood and florence by mills. Eastman Acetate Renew incorporates certified recycled content from eyewear production scrap, and results in a significant reduction in greenhouse gases when compared to the traditional manufacturing process. Mondottica Group is also minimising product packaging, developing and designing with more environmentally friendly alternatives.
