• The travel retail watch and jewellery specialist’s popular Belle & Beau range is set to shine at the Portuguese gateway.
  • Belle & Beau, Author and Moon lines will be highlighted at this year’s TFWA World Exhibition in Cannes, October 2-5.

Travel retail watch and jewellery specialist Kurate International has partnered with Portugal Duty Free to launch Belle & Beau at Lisbon Airport. Portugal Duty Free is a partnership between Aeroportos de Portugal (ANA)/Vinci Airports and Aer Rianta International (ARI).

The new listing comes as Kurate International aims to extend its network in travel retail, with a focus on securing further airport, cruise and ferry locations for its key Belle & Beau, Author and Moon brands. Products from the three brands will be spotlighted at this year’s TFWA World Exhibition in Cannes, October 2-5.

Belle & Beau is an affordable, self-select fashion jewellery brand, perfect for travellers looking for on-trend designs at superb value. According to Kurate International, Belle & Beau boasts an amazing success story since its launch in 2015.

A new self-select display unit, to drive impulse sales in any travel retail environment, was introduced at this year’s TFWA Asia Pacific Exhibition. Further display options, including a protype for a cruise countertop unit – as discussed at the DFNI Cruise Conference in Palma de Mallorca last month – will be revealed at the Cannes event.

Sharon Edwards, Kurate International’s International/Travel Retail Key Account Manager, said: “We are very excited to be launching with Portugal Duty Free. This marks a very important step for Belle & Beau which, with price points ranging from just £12 to £39, presents an easy purchasing decision to travellers. And let’s not forget that all the products are perfectly packaged in bespoke box and bag, to make Belle & Beau perfect for gifting.”

Other new partnerships for Belle & Beau include Condor Ferries and London Supply (South America) and three new Belle & Beau fixtures have been placed with DFDS on its Dover route. The brand will launch with ARI at Abu Dhabi International Airport later this year and a further listing at Paphos International Airport in Cyprus is to be confirmed.

Abu Dhabi will be the first airport store for Author jewellery, as Kurate International actively expands its product line-up to meet a wider price point spectrum.

The Author collection covers price points from £35 to £125 with individual ranges created for inflight and ground-stores/cruise-ferries.

“Author has been very well received by the industry and we have secured a number of inflight listings,” Edwards said. “The higher price points make it particularly suitable for airport and downtown shops along with ferries and cruise ships, markets that we are keen to develop in 2023 and beyond.

“Author is proving very popular, especially as it has such a strong sustainability story to tell. Its jewellery is made from recycled silver, presented in recycled and recyclable packaging so it can really tick the boxes for both retailers and consumers.

“We are working on more modular displays for Author so we can be versatile in other areas including the cruise channel. We want to open more doors for the brand, with, of course, sustainability being the key message.”

Moon watches will also be a strong feature of Kurate International’s presentation at the TFWA World Exhibition. Created with the on-trend traveller in mind, Moon styles range from classic city cool to tribal boho chic. “Moon offers retailers strong entry price point options and is especially of interest to inflight operators,” Edwards added.

Kurate International’s stand at TFWA World Exhibition is Green Village K56.
